There are new developments in the investigation into a daycare worker who was charged after a 15-month-old toddler suffered a broken leg.

Friedman, Domiano & Smith partner Marco Bocciarelli is preparing a civil lawsuit on behalf of the child’s parents. FOX 8 is reporting other parents have been reviewing video footage from the room where the incident occurred.

The worker who was charged with child endangerment and assault could face more charges. Police are studying video footage from the daycare center, called Sweet Kiddles, to determine if the worker did anything else that caused harm to any other children.

On Thursday, the accused had a hearing at Avon Lake Municipal Court where she pled not guilty. The case will head to a Lorain County grand jury, and there could be more charges.

The victim and his parents were in the courtroom during the hearing. The victim’s mother said, “These kids were there for months and years. They’re not getting the justice they need yet and hopefully, now they will.”

The boy’s father said it was important to be there not only to support his son but also other children who may have been victimized.
