Saturday, February 18th – Cleveland Kurentovanje Festival
The Cleveland Kurentovanje festival has been celebrated in the St. Clair-Superior Neighborhood since 2013. The festival celebrates the end of winter and the beginning of spring.
This year the festival starts on Sunday, February 5th and ends on Saturday, February 18th, with the main parade and festival. There will be plenty of food, drinks and performances celebrating Slovenian culture. This includes people dressed as Kurents, which are mythical creatures believed to chase winter away and usher in spring.
You can visit the festival website to learn more about what will be happening on each day.
This event is a program with the Slovenian Museum and Archives.
