HOW INFECTIONS SPREAD
Some patients encounter an infection within hours of admission when strains of hospital bacteria, viruses or parasites infect their bodies, usually through their skin, respiratory tract, genitals or urinary tract. Infections are caused for many reasons including medical negligence. For example, pathogens may be present on the hands of a health-care provider who comes into contact with a patient. Other causes are contaminations in the heating and air conditioning systems.
My doctor did the best he could
Victims can be reluctant to bring a medical malpractice lawsuit because they believe that their surgeon did the best job possible under the circumstances. They realize doctors are human and the practice of medicine requires making difficult decisions. We understand. That’s why we take the time to talk with our clients candidly about whether or not to take legal action. The truth is, good people can be bad doctors. If a doctor was negligent in your surgery, give us a call us and we’ll advise you on your options.
YOU HAVE A LIMITED TIME TO MAKE A CLAIM
Regardless of how the infection started, you have only one year from the date of the incident—or last treatment by the physician who caused the harm—to file a lawsuit (with some limited exceptions). In order to give your lawyer time to build a strong case, you must take action quickly. Contact us to learn more about your rights.
