Next month, Canalway is hosting the new Towpath Trail Lantern Parade. This event celebrates light, creativity, nature and sustainability. Parade-goers can make their own lanterns from recycled materials and battery-powered lights for the 1.6-mile trek that begins and ends at Sokolowski’s Overlook.

There will be displays of illuminated artwork made with recycled materials by local artists. The featured artists include Joyce Morrow Jones, Haley Himiko Hudson Morris and Ron Shelton.

You can visit the event website to register and learn more, including getting tips on making your own lantern.

Cuyahoga County residents partially support this parade, along with a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
