Employers must follow these guidelines to maintain a safe work environment:

• Train workers how to properly use aerial lifts.
• Train workers on the proper use of safety equipment to use with aerial lifts.
• Instruct employees to wear proper equipment.
• Never override safety devices.
• Maintain a clearance of at least 10 feet from overhead lines.
• Provide workers with body harnesses or other appropriate safety equipment.
